Last year we threw an old pumpkin in with a compost pile and we ended up with this very large pumpkin patch. This is our first of many pumpkins. Pretty good for an accidental pumpkin patch.
We did that once in Indiana. Actually, my sister just threw the pumpkin guts out the back door (instead of in the trash) and the next year we had TONS of pumpkins. We didn't have to buy pumpkins for the rest of the time we lived in that house.

Pumpkins grow well in Idaho! Way to go.
