We started out Friday at Pettit lake south of Stanley Idaho. This lake is on the edge of the Sawtooth Wilderness area. I was told that Demi Moore and Tom Hanks have homes on this lake. This was the starting point on our twenty something mile loop.
We quickly gained elevation as we entered the wilderness area.
A few small river crossings and checking of the map. My expression after hearing the remaining distance to the first camping spot.
Lots of rocky peaks surrounding us.
Our first camping spot was at Alice lake. We jumped in and found that this is a very cold but beautiful lake!
The next day we climbed even higher.
Here we are at the pass. This was the highest point of our trip. The elevation is somewhere around 9,500 feet.
The next night we stayed at another stunning mountain lake called Toxaway. There are many waterfalls like this one along this leg of the loop.
This is looking back on the third day at all the distance we covered. It was a great adventure! We came out sore, smelly, and craving soda pop.

Wow, such beautiful country there! What a fun adventure with your friends. Matt you are correct, Bruce and Demi did/do have a home there, at least that is the rumor.
Nice! I have been going up there my whole life and love it there. We have a cabin in between Pettit and Alturus lake in the Stanley basin. Bruce doesn't have a home there, he has a freakin compound on Pettit Lake.
