The Olympic Peninsula
We were anxious for a little time away, so we headed up to the Olympic Peninsula over 4th of July weekend. This was Lake Crescent. We just drove by it, but it would be a wonderful place to come back to on another trip. It was beautiful.
Since Jama is a Twilight fan, we decided to see all the sights since we are fairly close. First stop, LaPush.
We had beautiful weather. The sun was shining and the beach was gorgeous.

Izabel wasn't too sure about the cold water and the waves.
Quinn on the other hand had a great time splashing around in the water. He was soaked by the time we left.

We had to of course get some pictures of all the signs around.

As we headed out of La Push towards Forks, Jama snapped a picture of the forest from the car. We figure maybe this is what it looks like for the vampires & werewolves as they are racing through the trees.
Next stop, Forks.
Yes, we had to get the cheesy shots with the cardboard cutouts. We drove all this way, why not?

As we drove into town, they have a big train in the park. We had to stop for Quinn since he is such a big fan.
Final stop, Sequim. We arrived in time to check into our hotel, get some dinner and take a swim in the pool. Quinn had fun watching T.V. from his own big bed. Oh and pretending to bake food in the mini-fridge. (hence the ice cube tray)
Izabel had fun exploring the room.
But soon she was tired and cranky and ready for bed.
The next day, we headed to the Olympic Game Farm. We drove through as most of the animals roamed around our car. There were peacocks running around everywhere. This momma had a few little babies with her.
Quinn loved watching all the animals.
The Yaks were lazy and hardly realized we were there.
We were warned that the Zebras bite, so we didn't get too close to them.
They even had a rhino. We felt bad for him. He looked really lonely all by himself.
They had lots of bears. (Behind an electric fence of course)
This one had such a sad face. He looked pretty old.
We finally got a good shot of one of the male peacocks. They were dancing all over and squaking. Must have been mating season.
Next were the deer. They were not shy about coming right up to you and sticking their heads in your windows. They are used to being fed.

The bison were roaming around as well.
